Έχοντας συγκεντρώσει έναν σωρό από διάφορα κομματάκια ύφασμα τα τοποθετώ πάνω στο τραπέζι. Ξεκινάω να τα διαχωρίζω ανάλογα με το χρώμα τους και κάποια τα κόβω σε μικρότερα μέρη. Όταν ο διαχωρισμός τους έχει ολοκληρωθεί δημιουργώ μια σύνθεση από αυτά πάνω στο τραπέζι

Having gathered a pile of different pieces of cloth, I place them on the table. I begin to separate them according to their color and I cut some of them into smaller pieces. When their separation is complete I create a composition of them on the table

Figlia D’ANGELO, 2016, performance και εγκατάσταση, γυναικείο φόρεμα από αντρικά ρούχα, ξύλινη κρεμάστρα, διαστάσεις μεταβλητές

Η performance και εγκατάσταση Figlia D’ANGELO  πραγματοποιήθηκε (για δεύτερη φορά μετά την πρώτη της παρουσίαση στο Figlia D’ANGELO |the symptom 07 / Figlia d’ANGELO| video) την 1η Νοεμβρίου στο ArtWall Project Space, μέσα στον χώρο της έκθεσης Golden Aid της Ελεάννας Μπαλέση στο πλαίσιο της εκδήλωσης Fashion Room Service XXL Edition στο Fresh Hotel Athens, την οποία διοργανώσε το περιοδικό OZON Raw. Η εγκατάσταση του έργου παρέμεινε για 3 τρεις μέρες, μέχρι και το τέλος της έκθεσης.

The performance and  installation Figlia D’ANGELO was presented (for the second time after the first presentation at the Figlia D’ANGELO |the symptom 07 / Figlia d’ANGELO| video) on November 1, at the ArtWall Project Space in Athens, within the current exhibition Golden Aid by Eleanna Balesi, and in the context of the Fashion Room Service XXL Edition (Fresh Hotel Athens), organized by OZON Raw Magazine. The installation of the work remained for 3 three days, until the end of the exhibition

Η σχέση λέξης και εικόνας, ως μορφές επεξεργασίας του πραγματικού, και η σύνδεσή μεταξύ τους ορίζουν την δημιουργία του έργου Figlia D’ANGELO. Η Ι.Α. κατασκευάζει ένα γυναικείο φόρεμα από αντρικά ρούχα. Η διαδικασία της κατασκευής του φορέματος εμπεριέχει και περιγράφει την διαδικασία της δημιουργίας της υποκειμενικότητας της εικαστικού. Τα υλικά, προϊόντα της οικογενειακής βιοτεχνίας ρούχων, ως ίχνη του παρελθόντος που ενσωματώνουν το αρχειακό υλικό της ζωής της, γίνονται φορέας ταυτότητας. Ο τίτλος αποτελεί ένα λογοπαίγνιο και τονίζει το θέμα του έργου. Το πατρώνυμο Αγγελίογλου μεταφέρεται στα ελληνικά ως ο υιός του Αγγέλου και μεταφρασμένο στα ιταλικά δίνει την επωνυμία Figlio D’ANGELO στην οικογενειακή βιοτεχνία. Η εικαστικός αντικαθιστώντας το figlio με figlia, τοποθετεί στη θέση του υιού τη κόρη. Είναι η θυγατέρα του Αγγέλου, η κόρη του πατέρα της. Η Ι.Α. ανασκευάζοντας το οικογενειακό της όνομα σχολιάζει δύο φαινόμενα. Την κοινωνική δημιουργία του φύλου και τον κυρίαρχο ανδρικό ρόλο στην ιστορία της τέχνης.

Figlia D’ANGELO is born out the relationship between text and image. I.A. creates a women’s dress out of men’s clothes. Making the dress also entails the formation of the artist’s objectivity, a process which it also describes. The materials employed, products of the clothing manufacturing family business, are traces of the past that incorporate the archival material of the artist’s life; as such they also become carriers of identity. The wordplay in the title further emphasizes the theme that runs through the work: The name of the business derives from Aggelioglou’s surname – which would translate as “the angel’s son” in Greek – translated into Italian. By replacing figlio with figlia the artist substitutes the son with a daughter. She is the Angel’s daughter; her father’s daughter. Through the reconstruction of the family name I.A. comments on the social creation of gender and on the dominant male role throughout the history of art.

Δημιουργία μιας μάνταλα 

Έχοντας συγκεντρώσει υλικά από το φυσικό περιβάλλον μέσα στο οποίο πραγματοποιείται η δράση, δημιουργείται μια μάνταλα ως έκφραση αναζήτησης, ανάγκης και επιθυμίας για αρμονική σχέση με την φύση και με τον εαυτό.

Creating a mandala

Having gathered materials from the natural environment in which the action is take place, a mandala is created as an expression of the search, the need and the wish for harmonical coexistence with nature but also with our inner self.

το χαρτί και το ύφασμα απορροφά το νερό της βροχής

φύλλα από τα δέντρα και λέξεις από τους τοίχους

διαλέγονται από τον δρόμο κάτω και την πλατεία

διάφανα χαρτιά σκεπάζουν και εμφανίζουν τα φύλλα

λέξεις σπασμωδικές της πόλης

μέσα τους τσαλακώνονται τα φύλλα

και πετιούνται

σε ένα σώμα από

αναμνήσεις,

που συσσωρεύει βιώματα και συναισθήματα

και τα κουβαλά..

the paper and the fabric absorbs rainwater

leafs from trees and words from walls

are chosen from the street below and the square

transparent paper cover it and show the leafs

city’s convulsive words through them crumpled the leafs

and tossed

in a body of memories,

accumulating experiences and emotions

and carries ..

Άλλη Πατρίδα | Different country

Άλλη πατρίδα, 2015, performance στην πλατεία Βικτωρίας, διάρκεια 10-15 λεπτά

Έχω ράψει το περίγραμμα των χωρών απο τις οποίες προέρχονται μετανάστες και πρόσφυγες, σε ύφασμα. Κόβω τα κομμάτια του υφάσματος από την κάθε χώρα, ενώ περπατάω μέσα στην πλατεία και ανάμεσα στους ανθρώπους. Αφήνω τα υφασμάτινα κομμάτια του χάρτη σε διαφορα σημεια της πλατειας ή τα δινω σε ανθρώπους

Different country, 2015, performance in Victoria Square, duration 10-15 minutes

I sew on fabric the outline of the countries from which they originate immigrants and refugees. Ι cut pieces of fabric from each country, while I am walking through the square and between the people. I let the fabric pieces of the map in different points of the square or I am giving them to the people.
